1864
Patrick and Jane Pugh came with their family from Ireland June 4, 1864, to New York, on the ship called the City of New York. They came over on steerage. With them are sons Patrick and Francis.  Patrick Sr is 49, wife Jane is 40,  son Francis 19 and son Patrick 15.

1870
Patrick and Jane are found on the 1870 census in Middletown New York, where James Pugh had joined the Army and later married.  James and John were in Mechanicsville Iowa in 1870.  Records are found for son Patrick’s marriage to  Catherine Dwyre at St Patricks Pro-Cathedral-Catholic ,Newark, Essex, New Jersey on July 3rd, 1870. There is a Frank found in Middletown New York as well, age 21, working at the saw factory.

Patrick and Jane are in Pioneer Township, Cedar County, Iowa.   Son Patrick is married to Kate with children  Frank 9, May 7, Maggie 4 and Kate 3.   Son Frank is working as a hired hand in the same county.

According to his headstone, Patrick Pugh Sr. died Aug  7th, 14894

Jane is living alone, and son Patrick and family are living in Buffalo Nebraska.

There is a Jane Pugh living with John Pugh and family in Atlantic, Iowa.
